Sheriff Dusty Terrill welcomes you to the website for the Mercer County Sheriff's Office. Sheriff Terrill was elected Sheriff in 2018. Before this, Sheriff Terrill has served as Patrol Deputy, Detective, and DARE Officer, having begun his career with the Sheriff's Office in 2000. His appointed Chief Deputy is Brian Evins, who has been with the Sheriff's Office since 1992. We, at the Sheriff's Office, provide several essential law enforcement services to the people of Mercer County and work closely with other area law enforcement agencies. The Sheriff's Office staffs and maintains the county jail, provides patrol to county roads, and the Villages of Matherville and Joy operates an advanced 911 center and provide courthouse security.
