Sheriff David Staley welcomes you to the
website for the Mercer County Sheriff's
Office. Sheriff Staley was elected Sheriff in
2014. Prior to this, Sheriff Staley has served
as Telecommunicator, Correctional Officer
and Patrol Deputy having begun his career
with the Sheriff's Office in 2001. His
appointed Chief Deputy is Casey Switzer,
who has been with the Sheriff's Office since
2001.  We, at the Sheriff's Office, provide a
number of important law enforcement
services to the people of Mercer County
and work closely with other area law
enforcement agencies.  The Sheriff's Office
staffs and maintains the county jail,
provides patrol to county roads and the
Villages of Matherville and Joy along with
Fyre Lake, operates an advanced 911 center
and provides courthouse security.  Please
